🗿 1. Ancient Civilizations (2500 BCE – 500 CE)

  • The Indus Valley Civilization (in places like Mohenjo-Daro & Harappa) was one of the oldest in the world.

  • It existed around 2500–1700 BCE, with advanced city planning, drainage, and trade.

  • Later, Aryans, Persians, Greeks (Alexander the Great), and Mauryas came through this land.

  • Buddhism and Hinduism were dominant before Islam arrived.

🕌 2. Arrival of Islam (711 – 1500 CE)

  • In 711 CE, Arab general Muhammad bin Qasim invaded Sindh and introduced Islam.

  • Later, the region was ruled by Delhi Sultanate, Ghaznavids, and Mughals.

  • The Mughal Empire made Lahore and Multan important cultural centers.
