1. The Holy Spirit as Our Comforter
In John 14:26, the Savior declares,
"But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all, and will remind you of everything that I told you." (NIV)The Greek term parakletos—comforter, helper, and advocate—captures the Spirit’s role in soothing the soul when despair threatens to prevail.
