Original:
निश्चय प्रेम प्रतीति ते, बिनय करै सनमान।
तेहि के कारज सकल शुभ, सिद्ध करै हनुमान॥

Translation:
“Firm in loving faith you offer respectful homage;
For such a devoted soul, Hanuman guarantees the success of every noble endeavor.”


Chaupai Verses

  1. Verse 1
    Original:
    जय हनुमन्त सन्त हितकारी।
    सुनि लीजै प्रभु अरज हमारी॥

    Translation:
    “Hail, O Hanuman—the benefactor of saints!
    O Lord, kindly listen to our earnest plea.”

  2. Verse 2
    Original:
    जन के काज विलम्ब न कीजै।
    आतुर दौरि महा सुख दीजै॥

    Translation:
    “Delay not in coming to aid those in need;
    Hasten forth and bestow immense joy upon your devotees.”

  3. Verse 3
    Original:
    जैसे कूदि सिन्धु वहि पारा।
    सुरसा बदन पैठि बिस्तारा॥

    Translation:
    “As though you leaped across a vast ocean,
    so did you traverse with dazzling splendor and ease.”

  4. Verse 4
    Original:
    आगे जाय लंकिनी रोका।
    मारेहु लात गई सुर लोका॥

    Translation:
    “The guardian of Lanka could not bar your way;
    with a mighty kick, you struck fear into the celestial abodes.”

  5. Verse 5
    Original:
    जाय विभीषण को सुख दीन्हा।
    सीता निरखि परम पद लीन्हा॥

    Translation:
    “You brought solace to Vibhishana, the righteous counsellor;
    and by beholding Sita, you attained the supreme, divine station.”

  6. Verse 6
    Original:
    बाग उजारि सिन्धु महं बोरा।
    अत्यातुर यम कातर तोरा॥

    Translation:
    “By setting ablaze Lanka with your burning tail,
    even Yama—the great lord of death—trembles at your sight.”

  7. Verse 7
    Original:
    अक्षय कुमार मारि संहारा।
    लूम लपेटि लंक को जारा॥

    Translation:
    “You vanquished the foe without end,
    encircling Lanka with your indomitable might.”

  8. Verse 8
    Original:
    लाह समान लंक जरि गई।
    जय जय धुनि सुर पुर महं भई॥

    Translation:
    “Lanka was incinerated as if in an intense blaze,
    and echoes of victory resounded throughout the heavens.”

  9. Verse 9
    Original:
    अब विलम्ब केहि कारण स्वामी।
    कृपा करहुं उर अन्तर्यामी॥

    Translation:
    “Now, if any delay should occur, O Master,
    pour forth your inner grace and mercy upon us.”

  10. Verse 10
    Original:
    जय जय लक्ष्मण प्राण के दाता।
    आतुर होइ दु:ख करहुं निपाता॥

    Translation:
    “Hail, O giver of life to Lakshmana!
    Swiftly remove the sorrows that afflict your devotees.”

  11. Verse 11
    Original:
    जय गिरिधर जय जय सुख सागर।
    सुर समूह समरथ भटनागर॥

    Translation:
    “Hail, O bearer of the sacred mountain, hail, O ocean of bliss!
    Among the hosts of gods you are the mighty conqueror of foes.”

  12. Verse 12
    Original:
    ॐ हनु हनु हनु हनुमन्त हठीले।
    बैरिहिं मारू बज्र की कीले॥

    Translation:
    “Om—Hanu, Hanu, Hanu, O steadfast Hanuman!
    With the force of thunderbolts, defeat your adversaries.”

  13. Verse 13
    Original:
    गदा बज्र लै बैरिहिं मारो।
    महाराज प्रभु दास उबारो॥

    Translation:
    “Wielding mace and thunderbolt, vanquish the enemy;
    O revered Lord, rescue your humble servant!”

  14. Verse 14
    Original:
    ॐकार हुंकार महाप्रभु धावो।
    बज्र गदा हनु विलम्ब न लावो॥

    Translation:
    “Let the sound of Om and the roaring Hoon propel you, O Supreme Lord;
    may your thunderbolt and mace never be delayed in action.”

  15. Verse 15
    Original:
    ॐ ह्रीं ह्रीं ह्रीं हनुमन्त कपीसा।
    ॐ हुं हुं हुं हनु अरि उर शीशा॥

    Translation:
    “Om, Hreem, Hreem, Hreem, O Hanuman of the monkey host;
    Om, Hoon, Hoon, Hoon, O Hanuman—seize the heads of your foes!”

  16. Verse 16
    Original:
    सत्य होउ हरि शपथ पायके।
    रामदूत धरु मारु धाय के॥

    Translation:
    “May truth prevail on the oath of Lord Hari;
    O messenger of Rama, swiftly subdue the enemy!”

  17. Verse 17
    Original:
    जय जय जय हनुमन्त अगाधा।
    दु:ख पावत जन केहि अपराधा॥

    Translation:
    “Hail, hail, hail, O profound Hanuman!
    You relieve the suffering of even the most burdened souls.”

  18. Verse 18
    Original:
    पूजा जप तप नेम अचारा।
    नहिं जानत कछु दास तुम्हारा॥

    Translation:
    “Be it worship, recitation, penance, or righteous observances,
    none of your devotees are ever unknown or forsaken by you.”

  19. Verse 19
    Original:
    वन उपवन मग गिरि गृह माहीं।
    तुमरे बल हम डरपत नाहीं॥

    Translation:
    “In forests, groves, or mountain abodes—
    by your strength, we need not fear any peril.”

  20. Verse 20
    Original:
    पाय परौं कर जोरि मनावों।
    यह अवसर अब केहि गोहरावों॥

    Translation:
    “With hands joined in sincere supplication,
    grant us this boon without any further delay.”

  21. Verse 21
    Original:
    जय अंजनि कुमार बलवन्ता।
    शंकर सुवन धीर हनुमन्ता॥

    Translation:
    “Hail, O mighty son of Anjani, endowed with divine strength;
    O courageous Hanuman, beloved son of Shiva!”

  22. Verse 22
    Original:
    बदन कराल काल कुल घालक।
    राम सहाय सदा प्रतिपालक॥

    Translation:
    “You, with your fearsome form, destroy the formidable foes;
    ever remain the steadfast protector and helper of Lord Rama.”

  23. Verse 23
    Original:
    भूत प्रेत पिशाच निशाचर।
    अग्नि बैताल काल मारीमर॥

    Translation:
    “Ghosts, spirits, demons, and every foul creature—
    whether of fire, or even the fearsome agents of time and death—are vanquished by you.”

  24. Verse 24
    Original:
    इन्हें मारु तोहि शपथ राम की।
    राखु नाथ मरजाद नाम की॥

    Translation:
    “On the sacred oath of Rama, you must defeat these foes;
    O Lord, preserve and honor the sanctity of our name.”

  25. Verse 25
    Original:
    जनकसुता हरि दास कहावो।
    ताकी शपथ विलम्ब न लावो॥

    Translation:
    “Let me be known as a devoted servant of Hari—
    just as Sita, the daughter of Janaka, shone without hesitation—grant no delay.”

  26. Verse 26
    Original:
    जय जय जय धुनि होत अकाशा।
    सुमिरत होत दुसह दु:ख नाशा॥

    Translation:
    “Hail, hail, hail! As your glorious name echoes through the skies,
    the remembrance of you banishes all sorrow and distress.”

  27. Verse 27
    Original:
    चरण शरण करि जोरि मनावों।
    यहि अवसर अब केहि गोहरावों॥

    Translation:
    “Taking refuge at your sacred feet and with folded hands,
    I implore you—grant me this chance without delay.”

  28. Verse 28
    Original:
    उठु उठु चलु तोहिं राम दुहाई।
    पांय परौं कर जोरि मनाई॥

    Translation:
    “Arise, arise, and spread the message of Rama;
    with your mighty presence, uplift our hearts as we pray with joined hands.”

  29. Verse 29
    Original:
    ॐ चं चं चं चं चपल चलन्ता।
    ॐ हनु हनु हनु हनु हनुमन्ता॥

    Translation:
    “Om, chanchan chanchan chanchan—to you who move with boundless agility;
    Om, Hanu, Hanu, Hanu, O Hanuman, supreme in strength!”

  30. Verse 30
    Original:
    ॐ हं हं हांक देत कपि चञ्चल।
    ॐ सं सं सहम पराने खल दल॥

    Translation:
    “Om, as you roar with a resounding ‘haa haa haa,’ O playful monkey,
    may your thunderous cry instill fear into the dread masses of enemies.”

  31. Verse 31
    Original:
    अपने जन को तुरत उबारो।
    सुमिरत होय आनन्द हमारो॥

    Translation:
    “Quickly come to the rescue of your devotees;
    let our hearts swell with joy as we remember your deeds.”

  32. Verse 32
    Original:
    यहि बजरंग बाण जेहि मारो।
    ताहि कहो फिर कौन उबारो॥

    Translation:
    “He who wields this mighty Bajrang arrow—
    declare, then, who else could ever rescue us?”

  33. Verse 33
    Original:
    पाठ करै बजरंग बाण की।
    हनुमत रक्षा करै प्राण की॥

    Translation:
    “One who recites the Bajrang Baan
    invokes the protection of Hanuman for life itself.”

  34. Verse 34
    Original:
    यह बजरंग बाण जो जापै।
    तेहि ते भूत प्रेत सब कांपे॥

    Translation:
    “Whoever chants this sacred hymn—
    even ghosts and spirits tremble in your presence.”

  35. Verse 35
    Original:
    धूप देय अरु जपै हमेशा।
    ताके तन नहिं रहे कलेशा॥

    Translation:
    “By continually offering incense and reciting your name,
    one remains unburdened by all bodily troubles and afflictions.”
